4) The curve gets laid out joist by joist, then the rim is trimmed to follow it

5) Warm-tone composite boards, no staining; three staircases, each on its own concrete pad

6) Bronze aluminum railing plus a gate at the top of every stair — the part that matters most with kids or pets
