Walk-In Shower Renovation — Newton, MA | Condo
Spa Quality in a Newton Condo
Just because it’s a condo doesn’t mean it can’t feel like a luxury retreat. The homeowner at a home in Newton came to Sun Shore Construction with one goal: transform a dated bathroom into a walk-in shower that belongs in a boutique hotel. That’s exactly what they got.
Every inch of this shower was designed and built from the ground up — floor to ceiling, niche to drain — with the kind of craftsmanship that makes a small space feel like a destination.

The Transformation
The shower enclosure is finished with large-format gray marble-look tiles from floor to ceiling — a bold choice that makes the space feel expansive rather than enclosed. The floor is covered in a white and gray hexagonal mosaic tile, adding texture and interest underfoot while keeping the overall palette cool and refined. A built-in bench runs along the base, and a spacious recessed niche — lined with matching hex mosaic — keeps the design cohesive from every angle.
The brushed nickel sliding frameless glass door spans the full opening, making the shower feel open and airy. A rain head and hand shower with brushed nickel fixtures complete the setup. Outside the enclosure, dark large-format gray floor tile carries the sophisticated palette through the rest of the bathroom, and recessed ceiling lights illuminate the space without cluttering the ceiling.
The entire renovation was built from the ground up — full waterproofing, new plumbing, new backer board, tile, and all fixtures. The result is a shower that’s built to last and designed to impress.

I cannot speak more highly of Mr. Eric Zhang and his team for a bathroom renovation. I would rank them more than 5 Stars if I could. Quite simply, they are the best. They gut renovated both of our bathrooms, which was no easy task considering the overall age of our house, size of our bathroom, and required customization. They are incredibly hard working and always checked with us about our needs during the construction period. We feel very fortunate that we hired them. The quality of work in our bathrooms is top notch. Their ability to proceed with care, efficiency, problem-solve, communicate, and their attention to detail is outstanding. We feel like we had so many tall requests for this project and they delivered on all of them.

It was such a pleasure to work with Eric and Danny. They are professional, transparent, efficient, responsible, considerate, always on time and extremely easy to communicate with. With Eric and his team's magic touch, our 90-year-old small bathroom transformed into a more modernized one within 3 weeks, also on our budget as well. They are respectful to both the house and our ideas. The floor and the stairs were well protected during the renovation. They gave us ideas and advices while fully considering ours. More important, especially to us who have rare experiences of renovation, they always gave us quick responses and let us know in advance for the next steps, which made us feel the whole process was on the track. I appreciate Eric for being our contractor and the effort Eric and Danny have made for us. I would definitely ask them to do our kitchen and basement renovations in the future.

Eric completely remodeled our bathroom and did an outstanding job. He is a man of great honor and integrity and it was a pleasure working with him. My husband and I have looked a while to find someone to remodel our bath and was incredibly blessed to have found this company. Eric is very professional, prompt and does what he exactly what he says he'll do. Additionally he does exceptional work, our bathroom is absolutely beautiful. It surpassed our expectations and we are very happy and satisfied. If you need quality work done, Eric is definitely the one. You won't be disappointed.
